Recently, a delegation led by Xu Chengjie, President of Wuxi Education International Exchange Association, and Wu Weihong, Secretary-General, accompanied by Philadelphia Window, visited Yangzhou for educational exchanges. The delegation included principals and key teachers from Wuxi primary and secondary schools, aiming to enhance educational connectivity and resource sharing between Wuxi and Yangzhou.

The delegation visited prestigious schools including Beijing New Oriental Foreign Language School at Yangzhou, Yangzhou Meiling Middle School, Yangzhou Shuren School, Jiangsu Provincial Yangzhou High School and Jiangsu Provincial Yizheng High School. Through classroom observation, seminars and club demonstrations, the delegation conducted a comprehensive review of Model United Nations (MUN) programs in Yangzhou.

At Meiling Middle School, Yizheng High School and Shuren School, the delegation observed MUN club activities organized by Philadelphia Window as part of the Canal Cities Model UN Conference. Discussions focused on global competence education, critical thinking and cross-cultural communication, exploring the role of MUN in campus education.

Educational professionals from both cities exchanged views on school management, curriculum development, specialty clubs and international cooperation. The visit laid a solid foundation for regular cooperation such as teacher-student exchanges, joint courses and research collaboration, promoting high-quality regional education development.

The event was also attended by Zhu Xiaoyan, Vice President of the Latin American Branch of the Western Returned Scholars Association, and former Cultural and Educational Counselor at Chinese Embassies in Peru and Colombia. At Yangzhou High School, she delivered a keynote speech on advancing global competence education through MUN to support the 15th Five-Year Plan talent development strategy.

MUN serves as a practical platform to cultivate students’ communication, cross-cultural understanding, negotiation and consensus-building skills. It fosters a global vision while nurturing patriotism, guiding students to address global issues including food security and digital sovereignty. By exploring peace, development and cooperation, MUN instills a sense of responsibility for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

As a key organizer, Philadelphia Window ensured the smooth progress of the trip and will continue to act as a bridge to launch more cooperative programs for the high-quality development of international education.
